You Can Hear From God

.
"My sheep will hear My voice." (John 10:27).

Did you know that you can hear God's voice? I'm not talking about the Hollywood Boom-Box version; I'm talking about the still, small voice that speaks in the depths of your heart. “Be still and know that I am God,” He says. And He is speaking to YOU when He says it.

In another scripture we hear the voice of Wisdom calling to us, “Blessed is the man who listens to Me, watching daily at My doors, waiting at My doorway. For whoever finds Me finds life and receives favor from the LORD” (Proverbs 8:34-35). Life and favor from the Lord is the payoff to anyone who will listen for God's voice. This includes YOU.

Take time to listen. Read slowly and thoughtfully through the pages of Scripture, and you will discover that God will speak to you time and time again. The great preacher, A.W. Tozer, said, “God did not write a book and send it by messenger to be read at a distance by unaided minds. He spoke a Book and lives in His spoken words, constantly speaking His words and causing the power of those words to persist across the years."

D. Martin-Lloyd Jones put it this way, “The Bible was never given to stop personal revelation and communication; it was given to correct abuses.” We can walk safely through life’s tangled paths by following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, speaking to us personally through the pages of the Bible – God’s Living Word.

If we will look and listen, then we will learn that every day is filled with opportunities to have a conversation with God.

What is God saying to YOU today?
